Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early-game break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
